Summary: | This article presents an analysis of trends in the development of techniques for appraising the service life of engineering equipment exposed to destruction; describes a multilevel information–kinetic diagnosing technique relying on information optimization principles, the micromechanics of destruction, the kinetic concept of strength, and the modeling of time dependences of acoustic emission parameters; and shows the methodological connection of this technique to the conventional experimental technique of service-life appraisal. Information-bearing multimodel diagnostic parameters are provided that are linked with the strength characteristics of the structural materials and the service life of engineering equipment on different scales. Examples of appraising the service life of various types of welded seams and structural elements of machinery and equipment are considered. |
