Summary: | Award-winning author Jason Reynolds, the 2020-2021 National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, was selected as the speaker for the 2020 Children's Literature Assembly Breakfast at the NCTE Annual Conference (moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Despite the challenges of last spring, we continued to prepare enthusiastically for the annual Children's Literature Assembly (CLA) Breakfast event, moving forward by interviewing our featured speaker: celebrated author Jason Reynolds. Jason Reynolds, an award-winning poet and author of books for both young adult (YA) and middle-grade readers, currently serves as the 2020-2021 National Ambassador for Young People's Literature. In April of 2020, as part of his "Grab the Mic: Tell Your Story" platform as the National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, Reynolds, in partnership with the Library of Congress, launched "Write, Right, Rite," an online video series designed to spur creativity and inspire young people to express themselves through writing. |
