Summary:Here, we point out on an intriguing mapping between the quantum harmonic oscillator ground state and the zero absolute vorticity plane Couette flow of a Boltzmann-like density distributed ideal gas in thermal equilibrium. The mapping is obtained when the gas is embedded in a rotating frame whose rotation rate is equal to half of the frequency of the quantum harmonic oscillator.
