Summary: | Hodgson offers insights about engaging older pupils. To target the problem of dwindling visits and book issues in Years 9, 10 and 11, she tasked her pupil librarians to come up with ideas to encourage their own year groups back into the library. Year 9 are fans of TikTok, so the librarians have made short TikTok style videos recommending their favorite reads and shared them on school's electronic notice board so that other Year 9s can see them during form time. Year 9 have also been issued with loyalty cards to encourage repeat visits. Cards get stamped every time pupils visit and take out books, and on every fifth visit they get a bar of chocolate as a reward. |
