Summary:A global fitting method has been developed for spherical top molecules. The octad of the GeH 4 molecule comprising 24 interacting states has been investigated. By solving the inverse spectroscopic problem, positions of the band centers and rotational and resonant parameters are calculated. A total of 70 variable parameters allow 1184 initial experimental rovibrational energies to be reproduced with a standard deviation of 1.2·10 –3 cm –1 .
