Summary: | This paper discusses the specifics of electromagnetic and electromechanical processes for starting up forced-draft systems of high-capacity power generating units of the thermal power plants (TPP). The operating conditions were simulated for various soft-starting systems at different levels of starting current limitation, using a high-capacity induced-draft fan as an example. A comparison between the power required for operating such systems and energy dissipated in the electric motor was conducted. |
