Description
Summary:Novel stationary phases based on aminopropyl silica gel covalently modified with poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with different matrix-to-polymer mass ratios are obtained. The chromatographic properties of the adsorbents are studied using the Tanaka test procedure for hydrophilic stationary phases (and by way of example of separating model mixtures of sugars, amino acids, and water-soluble vitamins). It is shown that varying the thickness of the layer of (PEG) not only affects the efficiency but also makes it possible to tailor the selectivity toward polar analytes in the hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography mode.
