Summary: | The effect of a marshalite additive on nitriding of a complex ferrosilicoaluminum (FSA) ferroalloy to produce a sialon-based composite by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis is studied. The phase composition of the combustion products is revealed by changing the percentage of the marshalite additive in the starting reaction mixture. The optimal ratio of the marshalite additive to the initial FSApowder to obtain a product with the maximum sialon content is established. |
