Description
Summary:This paper reviews and describes the Miocene ochotonids Alloptox gobiensis (Young) and A. gudrunae sp. nov. from the localities of the Valley of Lakes in Central Asia. The new species is of Early Miocene age, it differs from all known taxa of the genus Alloptox in its primitive structure of the p3 and in its smaller size. This new form complements our knowledge of the composition of the genus Alloptox and enables tracing the evolutionary development of these taxa.
