An Economic and Eco-friendly Approach Towards Developing a Sustainable Growth Promoting Aquafeed for Labeo calbasu (Hamilton 1822)

Description
Summary:In order to develop an economic and eco-friendly aquafeed, we compared the growth performances of three fish feeds supplemented with crystalline amino acids and autochthonous probiotic bacteria for growth-promotion of Labeo calbasu fingerlings. The fingerlings were grouped into four: one control (D1; duckweed Lemna minor ) and three dietary supplement groups: D2 (lysine 4 g kg −1 ), D3 (methionine 7 g kg −1 ), and D4 (probiotic Aneurinibacillus aneurinilyticus 2000 CFU g −1 ). Diet supplemented with the probiotic (D4) showed highest growth performances when compared with that of control and two other supplemented groups. The fingerlings in D4 exhibited significantly higher ( p
