Description
Summary:Personal lifestyle can determine consumer choices. Considering the emerging concept of a cosmopolitan consumer profile, the aim of this research letter is to analyze the moderating effect of this individual characteristic on the tourism experience model. Hypotheses were tested via structural equation modelling on 489 cases in the United States. Two main types of respondents emerged in the results: upper cosmopolitan travellers and traditional travellers. The results revealed that upper cosmopolitans travellers are more prone to seek unique experiences, while traditional travellers tend to revisit the same places. Tourism managers can therefore customize different services based on each profile.
