Description
Summary:Composite Langmuir–Blodgett coatings of cerotinic acid with boron nitride of the hexagonal allotropic modification (α-BN) were formed by horizontal deposition on silicon and steel surfaces. Their morphology and tribological properties were studied. It was shown that the incorporation of α-BN particles into cerotinic acid monolayers increases their wear resistance by 3.5 and 3.0 times on silicon and steel, respectively. The presence of α-BN particles and their aggregates ranging in size from ~600 nm to 7.0 μm in cerotinic acid layers was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy.
