Description
Summary:Successive approximation, a method of solving mathematical problems by means of sequence of approximation that converges to the solution, has been reviewed with the convergence criteria. This method has been used to derive more accurate analytic expressions for Joule–Thomson coefficient, inversion temperature, heat capacity relations for imperfect gases using van der Waals equation of states. Some other potential applications of this method have been discussed.
