Description
Summary:The purpose of this research is to synthesize hydrophobic silica nanoparticles (NPS). Modified mixtures of trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) and NPS are the focus of the analysis of the nature of hydrophobicity. 0.5g of silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ) powder was mixed with TMCS, then coated on a glass substrate using the spin-coating method. Furthermore, the glass was put in a heating oven for one hour, at 65°C. In addition to the hydrophobicity test, morphological analyses using SEM (scanning electron microscopy) were also carried out. The contact angle of 115.6° indicates a hydrophobic nature. The presence of homogeneous NPS SiO 2 in the TMCS solution affects the hydrophobic quality of glass surfaces coated with NPS.
