Summary: | Ponelo Island is located at the North Gorontalo District, Province Gorontalo, with a position close to the Wallace line. The impact of the position makes Ponelo Island having high biodiversity, such as macroinvertebrates. This study aimed to compare the biodiversity of macroinvertebrates living in artificial substrates form anthropogenic, seagrass, mangrove, and coral reefs habitat at Ponelo Island, Gorontalo. This study was conducted from August to October 2019 in four different habitats at Ponelo Island. The specimens were identified at the Laboratory of Micro Biology, Department of Aquatic Resources Management, IPB University. The data were analyzed by calculating the diversity index, evenness index, dominance index, similarity analysis among habitats, and ANOVA test. The macroinvertebrate samples from all stations were found in 58 species, consisting of phylum Annelids, Crustaceans, and Molluscs. The diversity value of macroinvertebrate in seagrass and coral reef habitats is higher and vice versa the association level is lower than in other habitats.
Acetes
sp.,
Clypeomorus bifasciata
, and
Sesarma
sp. were obtained in all locations. The placement of the artificial substrate had no significant effect on the density of macroinvertebrates in all habitats. |
