Role of Bacteria of the Genus Pseudomonas in the Sustainable Development of Agricultural Systems and Environmental Protection (Review)

The use of specialized cultures of microorganisms and biological products based on them is the most acceptable way to solve such topical problems as an increase in plant yield and protection from disease, as well as the elimination of the consequences of pollution with oil and oil products. The use...

description The use of specialized cultures of microorganisms and biological products based on them is the most acceptable way to solve such topical problems as an increase in plant yield and protection from disease, as well as the elimination of the consequences of pollution with oil and oil products. The use of microorganisms with a complex of useful properties is a modern trend in the development of agricultural and environmental biotechnology. These include the members of the genus Pseudomonas , many of which are able to stimulate the plant growth and development, suppress phytopathogenic organisms, destruct hydrocarbons of different structures, exhibit activity in a wide temperature range, produce biosurfactants, etc. The review demonstrates that the search for and study of active pseudomonas strains is of considerable interest from the point of view of the potential for their wide use in both agricultural and recultivation practices.
