Summary: | ABSTRACT Background: Hematological parameters such as bleeding time and clotting time play a significant role in all surgical procedures as a result of which blood tests are performed on a routine basis in all the hospitals over the world. [1] Austrian scientist and Nobel laureate Karl Landsteiner discovered that visible agglutination occurred when sera were mixed with saline red blood cell (RBC) suspension separately, thereby discovering the ABO blood group system during their early experiments. [21] A retrospective evaluation was administered to correlate the relationship between the severities of bleeding phenotype with the ABO blood groups in subjects with mild rare bleeding disorders (RBD), the consequence of which showed a good association between bleeding risk and type 0 blood group in RBD individuals. Literature shows that dietary intake of mercury shows a positive correlation with low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol but negative correlation with high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol. |
