Summary: | Contemporary economic and social development are closely linked to the phenomenon of globalization of the world economy, which causes many of the old everyday economic and social processes to influence each other. Today, more than ever, the ecological interference of global interdependencies affects all states of the world. The global and cross-border nature of environmental issues also affect the countries of the European Union. The desire of the world's states to take action and make sacrifices to improve the environment has grown considerably in recent decades as the damage to the environment from human activity has become increasingly severe. As the environment influences the quality of life of EU citizens, the EU is expected to play an active role in protecting and conserving the environment, both internally, in Community law and externally, through the EU's participation in international agreements in this field. |
