Summary:OBJECTIVE A single-institution study of 7 years of experience was performed to investigate the clinicopathological and therapeutic characteristics of malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) patients who received multimodality treatment, as well as factors affecting survival.p>METHODS A retrospective review of a consecutive cohort of pathologically confirmed MPM patients who were referred to our radiation oncology clinic and received multimodality treatment strategy that included surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy at our training and research hospital between 2001 and 2008 was performed. RESULTS A total of 53 patients were included in the study. Median age was 58 years (range: 33?79 years). Mean duration of follow-up was 14 months (range: 4?82 months). Disease-free status and overall survival were 11 months (range: 3?50 months) and 14 months (range: 4?82 months), respectively. Factors that individually predicted better prognosis were younger age (
