She was elected a Fellow of the Medieval Academy in 1988 and was President of the Fellows from 2002 to 2005. She was one of the first women faculty in the English Department at UCLA, and an energetic, dedicated, and renowned medievalist - author of The Prioress and the Critics in 1965 and editor of "The Prioress's Tale" and "The Second Nun's Tale" for the 1987 Riverside Chaucer (3rd ed.), among other notable publications. |
