Summary:In the period 1990-2019 the world economy grew and declined with good and bad periods, with smaller and stronger crises (such as the 2009 one), which seems to have not ended. Word seaborne trade, directly related to international world and merchandise trade followed their upward and downward trends, but with much higher amplitudes. The comparative analysis of global economic developments in 2005-2018 period shows a declining trend of all economic indicators, accentuated in the covid and post-covid 19 era.
