Description
Summary:The effective elastic modulus of composites with network microstructures is studied by micromechanics methods. Based on their network morphology, a mesoscopic model for them is developed. The predictions found by the model are compared with previous experimental results, and a good agreement between them is found to exist. The effect of some parameters, including the particle size, volume fraction and distribution, on the composite stiffness is analyzed. Finally, the reinforcing mechanism of network morphology is investigated by finite-element method.
