Summary: | In the Society’s second virtual AGM, the President of the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers), The Rt. Hon. the Baroness Chalker of Wallasey, reflected on her final year in office and hopes for the future. She specifically noted the need for combined efforts to tackle climate change in ways that involve geographers and non‐geographers alike. The President also drew out some lessons from her own experiences, applying them to the COP26 conference in Glasgow (2021), as well as other global challenges that will require geography and geographers to play a key role. |
