The Forms of Metals in the Water and Bottom Sediments of the Malaya Sen’ga River (Vladimir Oblast)

Forms of metals in water and bottom sediments of the Malaya Sen’ga River located in Petushinskii district of Vladimir oblast have been analyzed. It is shown that all the studied metals in the river waters are predominated by their dissolved forms. Most of the Fe, Cu, Cd, and Pb form complexes with o...

description Forms of metals in water and bottom sediments of the Malaya Sen’ga River located in Petushinskii district of Vladimir oblast have been analyzed. It is shown that all the studied metals in the river waters are predominated by their dissolved forms. Most of the Fe, Cu, Cd, and Pb form complexes with organic substances, which are mainly represented by their negatively charged compounds, while forms of Ni and Zn are dominated by inorganic compounds and cationic complexes with low-molecular weight organic ligands. The percentage of migratory forms of metals of their total content in bottom sediments varies from 10 to 30%, a significant part of them being represented by forms associated with iron and manganese hydroxides.
