Description
Summary:We have investigated the resolution of the two overlapping point sources produced by the defocused incoherent system. By employing the quadratic amplitude filter in the pupil plane, the resultant intensity distributions produced by the incoherent optical system have been modified into a required component, while two-point sources are separated by the distance less than that of the diffraction limit and a comparison between them has been made by analyzing the position of the central dip in the curves. The results of the study indicate that, the apodization mask produces a higher spatial frequency under the Rayleigh limit, which means that the resolution limit is improved.
