Description
Summary:Stand structure and carbon stock of tree vegetation have been studied in Deleng Macik Taman Hutan Raya Bukit Barisan Karo district of North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This study aims to determine the stand structure and carbon stock in the forest of Deleng Macik. The placement plot is determined by purposive sampling method based on 1 km transect line which contains 100 plots area, each plot has size 10x10 m and were placed in zigzag. Observations were made using squares method. The results showed that the tree composition consists of 70 species belong to 23 families. The highest DBH was family of Lauraceae 7.54 m2/ha while the lowest was family of Theaceae 0.02 m2/ha. The vertical structure was dominated by stratum C with 417 individuals. The carbon stored in the research location was 20.76 tons/ha.
