Summary: | This article analyzes the connection between domestic politics and foreign policy in the Saudi context under the new regime. Saudi Arabia is at a crossroads. At no time in the past has the kingdom been faced with so many interrelated challenges. Most issues have been resolved by moderate or dramatic shifts in foreign relations and domestic decisions. Saudi Arabia today is a fully nonaligned country that maintains strong and good ties with the U.S. and Russia while cautiously developing its relations with Israel. The new regime has already shown much activity in many fields, and is taking bold moves. |
