Summary: | The mitigation of corrosion is a major problem for many industries all over the world as it is costly to maintain metals especially in all energy sectors. There are different methods been used such as painting, coating and galvanizing; but, all these solutions are relatively expensive and cause harmful effect to the environment. it is pertinent to develop and apply emerging technology that will yield high resistance to corrosion, as a way of controlling corrosion in order to reduce corrosion cost, lower the risk of failure, accidents and extend the useful lives of equipment and building. This foster the search of natural plants with green inhibitors which are eco-friendly and relatively inexpensive. This paper investigates the corrosion mechanism process and possible mitigation in steel application. |
