Summary: | The problem of two equal holes in a plane under uniform comprehensive tension is considered with accounting effects of surface elasticity. The problem is solved in the approximation of plane strain by using bipolar coordinates and series expansion. The problem may be of interest for the case of rather close holes. In this case, despite rather simple geometry, rather strong effects of the difference between surface and volumetric properties may be expected due to small distance between holes. |
