Description
Summary:The exergo-economic estimations of a combined system having solid oxide fuel cell, intercooled and reheat gas turbine & organic Rankine cycle for power and cooling by vapor absorption refrigeration are presented here. Results offer insight into the exergetic efficiency, exergy destruction, specific work output, refrigeration effect, and unit power cost. The combined system offers the maximum exergetic efficiency of 86.76% at cycle pressure ratio 8, turbine inlet temperature 1673 K, while at these operating states, the specific work output is 1255.09 kJ/kg of air and refrigeration effect available is 14.88 ton. The minimum cost of unit power output from this arrangement in service for a period of 10 years is found as 2070 US$ per kW at highest cycle temperature of 1473 K, 16 cycle pressure ratio, and power to cooling ratio of 201.7.
