Summary:Increasing customer experience and emotions through product interactions, exposure and testing through multi-dimensional visual effects are what digital packaging is all about. It could be videos, 3D images, animated characters combined with the product, beautiful effects, product details, or it could be an interesting mini game for consumers etc. Because of the excitement through product interactions, nowadays modern graphic design in Vietnam, especially packaging design use Augmented Reality (AR) into the design and digital packaging has been received good feedback from consumers. So how can the digital packaging convey Vietnamese cultural values into the packaging design? This article is going to research and analyze through current digital packaging to discuss, initially identify the successes and limitations of applying digital packaging. At the same time, it will point out the trend of combining digital packaging and ethnic culture, towards solutions to create its own mark and bring national cultural identity of Vietnam’s packaging design in the current period and in the future.
