Linear and cyclic polyester called poly (oxyethylene glycol oxymaleoyl) via ring oppening and/or cyclization reactions: Controlled synthesis under effect of maghnite (Algerian MMT)

Linear and cyclic polyesters are used extensively for biomedical and materials applications. The synthetic difficulty of preparing cyclic polyesters has limited their preparation and exploration due to several factors, including the effect of the used organic catalyst and molar ratio of comonomers....

description Linear and cyclic polyesters are used extensively for biomedical and materials applications. The synthetic difficulty of preparing cyclic polyesters has limited their preparation and exploration due to several factors, including the effect of the used organic catalyst and molar ratio of comonomers. The present study shows the synthesis of linear and cyclic poly (oxyethylene glycol oxymaleoyl) from the maleic anhydride and ethylene glycol using a heterogeneous catalyst called maghnite (Algerian MMT) via direct ring oppening polymerization. The aim of this work based on new synthetic methods that have been developed for the preparation of cyclic and linear polyesters under effect of an ecological inorganic catalyst called maghnite (Algerian MMT).Finally, this synthetic method have been developed which compliment previous techniques, and promise to increase the availability of cyclic polyesters for future studies. The different physical and chemical properties are discussed and demonstrated by several technics of characterizations such as 1 HNMR, FTIR spectroscopy and in the other hand the relative parameters of reaction such as effect of catalyst, temperature, time, ratio of monomers and reagents are discussed and investigated. Finally, the cyclic polymer was directly compared with its homologue linear polymer.
