Description
Summary:It is found for the first time that the oxidation of adenine and cytosine under the action of an ozone–oxygen mixture in an aqueous medium is accompanied by chemiluminescence in the visible region of the spectrum. It is shown that the luminescence is clearly associated with the presence of ozone in the bubbling gas mixture. Stopping the feed of the O 3 –O 2 mixture lowers the intensity of luminescence. The kinetics of the drop in the intensity of luminescence is studied in the temperature range of 285–309 K, and the activation parameters of the considered process are determined.
