Does experiment show that beamstrahlung theory – strong field QED – can be trusted?
We present a discussion of the experimental foundation for the strong field effects that are applied in beamstrahlung calculations for the planned next generation of linear colliders. In particular, quantum suppression of synchrotron radiation, coherent pairs and tridents are treated. It is shown, t...

Summary: | We present a discussion of the experimental foundation for the strong field effects that are applied in beamstrahlung calculations for the planned next generation of linear colliders. In particular, quantum suppression of synchrotron radiation, coherent pairs and tridents are treated. It is shown, that many of these phenomena can be – and some have been – tested using present day technology. |
