Summary: | In the present study, SA53 grade B steel welds and SA333 grade 6 steel welds are produced using shielded metal arc welding process. Microstructural variation and mechanical properties of the joints after the welding are studied. Results show that significant grain coarsening in the heat-affected zone near to the fusion line in both the welds. The tensile strength of SA53 weld joints is higher than SA333 weld joints. In both the welds, the failure of the joints occur in base material. |
