Description
Summary:Climate change impacts have the potential to undermine and even, undo progress made in improving the socio-economic well-being of East Africans. Many studies indicated that one of the most widespread and potentially devastating impacts of climate change in East Africa will be changes in the frequency, intensity, and predictability of rainfall. In most of African countries whose economy is heavily depending on rainfed agriculture, accurate estimation of the spatial and temporal distribution of rainfall and observing its trends are crucial input parameters for securing sustainable agricultural production. This paper examines the spatial and temporal rainfall characteristics of Amhara Region, Ethiopia; using standard rainfall statistical descriptors.
