Description
Summary:Vibration isolating device (VID) on board proposed in this paper is used to protect the wounded from the vibration of the ambulance. Most devices are usually designed with 1–2 DOF (degree of freedom) to isolate vertical linear vibration and pitch angular vibration, which cannot isolate multi-dimensional vibration of the ambulance. To isolate multi-dimensional vibrations, a novel 4-DOF VID is proposed based on the constraint screw theory. The inverse kinematics of the 4-DOF parallel mechanism is deduced, and the singularity is analysed. Considering the complexity of road conditions, the vibration isolating control method of the VID is given with an additional pulling module. The prototype of the VID is manufactured to verify the vibration isolating performance, and the test is executed on both a 6-DOF motion simulator and a moving vehicle. The experimental results show that the VID reduces the acceleration value of vibration by more than 68% while keeping the VID in the equilibrium state.
