Summary:The paper analyzes the meteorological conditions in the city of Krasnoyarsk during the period of unfavorable meteorological conditions from February 14 to 18, 2020. The relationship between the pollution of the city's atmosphere by suspended solid particles and the formation of a temperature inversion –an increase in temperature with altitude in the surface layer of the atmosphere is investigated. The paper uses data from the reanalysis of the NCEP GFS weather forecast model on the air temperature on 9 isobaric surfaces (1000-700 Mb) and the height of the atmospheric boundary layer. The regional air monitoring system provides measurements of suspended particulate matter PM2.5 concentrations and wind speed data. The results obtained allow us to conclude that there is a high degree of correlation between these parameters. The possibility of using GFS data in the analysis of meteorological conditions of the lower layer of the atmosphere and periods of its pollution, forecasting the aggravation of the environmental situation in the city is shown.
