Summary:The paper presents the features of research to control the wear rate of agricultural machinery parts (using the example of fuel pump parts). Using the example of a fuel pump of the UTN-5 brand, as a result of the studies carried out, reliability indicators were obtained for 24 plunger pairs, as well as the distribution laws of their resource. The main objective of the study is to identify the system of tolerances that are responsible for the formation of a minimum flow of parts failures in the operation of fuel pumps. The developed system of tolerances allows to control the actual wear rate of fuel pump parts, as well as determine the time when the control parameter goes outside the tolerance range. The analysis of the existing systems of tolerances and the development of a resource-saving system of tolerances, taking into account the actual wear rate of fuel pump parts, makes it possible to reduce the probability of their failures and increase the service life.
