Summary:The structure of a novel pentanuclear heterometallic complex [Pd 3 La 2 (OOCMe) 12 (MeCOOH) 4 ] with an unusual ratio of metals 3Pd:2La is studied by XRD. The complex is prepared by the reaction of palladium acetate [Pd 3 (OOCMe) 6 ] with lanthanum acetate [La(OOCMe) 3 ·1.5H 2 O]. The molecule of the complex contains two heterometallic binuclear fragments [PdLa(OOCMe) 5 (MeCOOH) 2 ] connected to the structure-forming fragment [Pd(OOCMe) 2 ] via bridging acetate groups and hydrogen bonds of coordinated acetic acid.
