Structural Integrity Assessment and Lifetime Prediction for Inermediate Rod Bayonets Control Bayonets of Control and Protection Systems of the WWER-440 Reactor: Part 2. Structural Integrity Analysis of Bayonet and Justification of Monitoring Period of Degradation Its Metal

This work analyzes the structural integrity and brittle fracture resistance of the intermediate control bayonets of the control and protection system (CPS) of the WWER-440 reactor. The tests of the metal of the bayonets irradiated as part of Novovoronezg NPP unit 3 show that the structural integrity...

Description
Summary:This work analyzes the structural integrity and brittle fracture resistance of the intermediate control bayonets of the control and protection system (CPS) of the WWER-440 reactor. The tests of the metal of the bayonets irradiated as part of Novovoronezg NPP unit 3 show that the structural integrity of the bayonets against the brittle fracture criterion is ensured on condition that the radiation-induced hardening of their material measured in hardness terms does not exceed 423 Vickers units.
