Variable Modes of Operation of Combined-Cycle Gas-Turbine Units
The available capacity of gas-turbine units (GTU) and combined-cycle gas-turbine (CCGT) units varies significantly with the outside air temperature. Its changes also affect the operating load range of the GTU-the minimum safe load increases with decrease in the outside temperature. Experimental data...

Summary: | The available capacity of gas-turbine units (GTU) and combined-cycle gas-turbine (CCGT) units varies significantly with the outside air temperature. Its changes also affect the operating load range of the GTU-the minimum safe load increases with decrease in the outside temperature. Experimental data are analyzed that indicate the possibility to substantially reduce the minimum safe load of CCGT units by bypassing some of the compressed air to the compressor inlet during frost periods that are not uncommon in our country. |
