Summary:This paper presents a method for evaluating the energy efficiency of a mobile compressor unit (MCU) with a waste heat recovery system. The recovery efficiency criterion is determined, the optimization problem is formulated and its solution is performed. The analysis of the objective function and solution results showed that there are such values of the mass flow rate of the working fluid and its boiling point in the Rankine cycle implemented by the recovery system, that are optimal for this schematic solution, i.e., the maximum recovery efficiency is achieved.
