Description
Summary:5G and beyond network systems optimize vertical-specific services, through network slices that support vertical-specific Quality of Service and related resources. This provides an opportunity to improve collaboration and utilization of physical world resources, by sharing them across verticals in a secure manner. This paper proposes a possible deployment architecture of next-generation bank-branch that transforms itself to serve other verticals (e.g., healthcare, education, etc.) utilizing the opportunities enabled by 5G and beyond networks, especially in rural areas. Such close convergence and collaboration are crucial for achieving sustainable development goals, to benefit people at the base of the pyramid in an affordable and green manner. Sharing of physical resources like kiosk-terminals, camera feeds, edge compute, etc. across vertical opens additional challenges in security, identity, and privacy. The work delves into architecture and policy alternatives, to minimize these concerns when resources are shared across verticals.
