Summary: | The third panel returned to the theme of post-apocalypse to explore survival, biopolitics and ethics in works as diverse as Paulo Bacigalupis novels and the Mass Effect video game trilogy. While the online nature of the conference meant that it was not possible to have the traditional meal and visit to the pub to continue these discussions, the Discord channels provided a helpful space for these extended conversations to take place, and a virtual drinks session over Zoom facilitated some more informal exchanges of ideas. [...]we would like to thank all the panellists for sharing such exciting work with us, and all the conference attendees for engaging in fruitful discussion throughout. |
