Description
Summary:A simple, Stability and higher sensitivity spectrophotometric method was advanced for the estimation of phenylephrine HCL (PHC) in pharmaceutical formulations. The process was based on oxidative coupling organic reaction of reduced phenylephrine HCL (PHC) with N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine in the presence of Sodium per sulfate in basic medium to give panic solution soluble product with maximum absorbance at 502 nm. The effect of physical and chemical factors were investigated by UV-Visible method. The analytical result of the batch process are: the range of concentration (2 - 50) mg/L, molar absorptivity of (2.140*103) L.mol−1.cm−1,Sandell’s sensitivity value (0.07812*10−5) µg.cm−1, limit of detection (4.73*10-5)µg.ml−1RSD% (0.6877%) for phenylephrine HCL. The relative standard deviations of the proposed methods were less than 0.68 were successfully useful to the estimation of phenylephrine HCL (PHC) in capsules.
