Summary: | [4] Bleeding episodes in joints and muscles cause acute pain. [...]pain serve as an early warning sign of active joint (or other) bleeds. [...]drug 1- Paracetamol 500 mg TID for 5 days was given to the 18 hemophilia patients after washout period of minimum of 7 days the same patients were given Drug 2-Tramadol 50 mg BD is given for 5 days. After 18 patients receiving paracetamol most of the patient from severe and worst pain fell to moderate pain category and P = 0.029 after the washout period patients taking Tramadol for 5 days most of the patients from severe and worst pain fell to mild pain scores P < 0.001. [...]Tramadol was very much useful in relieving pain then paracetamol. Holeistein et al. did a European survey of pain management practices in hemophilia,[8] paracetamol was the only analgesic which was used regularly by all 22 hemophilia treatment centers surveyed, along with it weak opioids were recommended for using in acute and chronic pain in both children and adults. |
