Much like the panic at becoming trapped within the current, such a response works against our goals of finding a solution to the challenge at hand. [...]one's desire for a clear-cut solution to a monumental challenge can pose a significant risk to one's ability to effectively guide preservice teachers and middle level learners in navigating their classroom experiences. Rather than fight against the waves, we can make an effort to follow the tide and revamp our approach to methods instruction and teacher preparation.
