Description
Summary:This study analyzes fatigue failures of mechanical components made from alloyed steels. The main identified causes of fatigue cracking of steel components in use are surface tempering due to the friction of conjugated pieces, surface corrosion damage, metallurgical flaws, thermal, thermochemical, and mechanical treatment flaws. Characteristic microstructural features at various kinds of fatigue component failures are shown.
