On the Molecular-Statistical Theory of Ferromagnetic Liquid Crystal Suspensions

A molecular-statistical mean-field theory is considered for suspensions of anisometric magnetic particles in nematic liquid crystals. The temperature dependences of the order parameters of the system are studied. It is shown that, depending on the temperature, the suspension can be in one of the pha...

Description
Summary:A molecular-statistical mean-field theory is considered for suspensions of anisometric magnetic particles in nematic liquid crystals. The temperature dependences of the order parameters of the system are studied. It is shown that, depending on the temperature, the suspension can be in one of the phases: isotropic liquid, antiferromagnetic nematic, or ferromagnetic nematic.
